Victoria Covid News – Locked Out of Venues and Activities

Victorians who decide not to be vaccinated against COVID-19 will be locked out of pubs and bars, according to Premier Daniel Andrews. Friday’s cases were recorded from more than 48,570 COVID-19 tests. Friday’s figures come as restrictions for parks change and kids under 12 are allowable for the first time in weeks, to use the play area.

Only one parent or carer can escort their kids to a community playground, and when there, adults must check-in using a QR code, and they should not take away their masks to eat or drink. Likewise, as of 11.59 on Thursday, in-home cares, for example, babysitters, are allowable for school-aged kids, as long as both their parents are authorized workers.

Students to join Covid-19 vaccination workforce

Mr. Andrews declared that several health specialists and students are being trained to manage COVID-19 vaccines in the state. “It’s essentially, everybody who can do this safely needs to be part of that team as we grow and expand the total amount of vaccinations that we do,” he said.

He said among those people administering vaccines would be dentists, oral health counselors, hospitals druggists, people in nursing, and paramedical students.

Unvaccinated over 60 told not to delay for Pfizer

Mr. Andrews also advised people over 60 who are yet to be vaccinated against Covid -19 not to postpone the Pfizer vaccine but to register to get AstraZeneca as soon as possible. “People over 60 who are already eligible for a vaccine, the AstraZeneca vaccine – the Prime Minister has made clear that they will go into the queue behind those who are eligible and can only receive Pfizer,” Mr. Andrews said.

“Don’t get in the queue if you’re over 60; don’t get in a queue that includes [people] right down to 12-year-olds. That’s going to be a very long way, and we don’t have time to wait. We need to get as many doses into as many arms as possible.”Mr. Andrews said there were 50,000 Astra Zeneca vaccination appointments available in the state.
